About Me

ELISA ROSE JORDAN, soprano, is currently finishing her degree in music at Point Loma Nazarene University, studying with Dr. John Craig Johnson and coaching with Ines Irawati. Native to sunny San Diego, Ms. Jordan has been selected to sing throughout the area as a soloist in major works, including Point Loma Choral Union’s programs of Handel’s Messiah, Beethoven’s Fantasie, and Brahms's Requiem. She was the soprano soloist for Torrey Pines Christian Church concert series of C.P.E Bach’s Magnificat, Respighi’s Laud to the Nativity, and Fauré’s Requiem. This spring, Ms. Jordan will be featured as the soprano soloist for Fauré’s Requiem at La Jolla Methodist Church.

With Point Loma Opera Theatre, she has sung in Die Zauberflöte (Pamina), Gianni Schicchi (Lauretta), Dido and Aeneas (Belinda), and the title role in Massenet’s Cendrillon. She has also recently sung the role of Mother in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors with San Diego Ecumenical Opera. Member of the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA), Ms. Jordan has had the pleasure to sing with the San Diego Opera chorus in Madama Butterfly, Nabucco, and Turandot.

As a recipient of the T. Davis Cunningham Memorial Encouragement Award for the San Diego District Metropolitan Opera National Council audition, a winner with the La Jolla Symphony Young Artist Competition for the past two years, and of the Virginia and Susan Hawk Memorial Vocal Scholarship, Ms. Jordan has had the pleasure to have worked with Charles Castronovo, Martin Katz, Ian Campbell, and Cheryl Studer. Ms. Jordan participated as an Apprentice in the SongFest summer program, the Administrative Intern with OperaWorks, and this next summer will be an Advanced Artist in OperaWorks.
